ARTICLE 1 – How Trip Designer Works on KOOB (Programs & Activities)
This article explains the basic concepts of Trip Designer so you can understand how KOOB builds your itinerary.
1. What Is Trip Designer?
Trip Designer is a tool inside KOOB that lets you build your own itinerary day by day.
You combine:
-
Programs (Modules): the main building blocks of each travel day.
-
Activities: optional experiences you add inside a Program.
You always choose a Program first, then you open that Program to see and add Activities.
2. Programs vs. Activities
Program (Module)
A Program is a complete day segment of your trip, for example:
-
Arrival day in a city
-
Travel day between two cities
-
Free day with no fixed program
-
A 2–3 day mini‑trip in a specific region
Programs create the structure of your itinerary: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc.
Activity
An Activity is an optional, add‑on experience inside a Program, such as:
-
City tours
-
Cooking classes
-
Evening shows
-
Short excursions
Activities only become available after you select a Program for that day.
3. The Five Program Types
To keep things simple, each destination uses the same four Program types:
-
Arrival Programs – your first day in a city/country.
-
Departure Programs – your last day before leaving that city/country.
-
Transition Programs – travel days between two locations.
-
Free Day at Leisure – open days where you can add optional Activities.
-
Short Package Programs (2D1N / 3D2N) – pre‑designed mini‑trips in some regions.
Each Program type has a clear purpose and naming so you can quickly understand what it does.
4. Naming: How to Read Program Titles
Program names are practical and descriptive. They usually follow this logic:
City / Region – Main Experience – Extra Detail (if needed)
Examples:
-
“Hanoi – Old Quarter – Cyclo Tour”
-
“Hue – Imperial Citadel & Perfume River Cruise”
-
“Ha Giang – Dong Van Karst Plateau – 3D2N”
When you look at a Program name, you should immediately know:
-
Where you are
-
What the main activities are
-
How long the module lasts (if it is a short package)
5. What’s Included and Excluded
Each Program has its own inclusions, but in general:
Often included:
-
Local activities mentioned in the description
-
Transfers listed in the itinerary
-
Entrance fees for the listed sites
-
English‑speaking guide during included activities
-
Drinking water for refilling personal bottles
Often excluded:
-
Accommodation (unless clearly indicated in a Short Package)
-
Flights, seaplanes, special cruises unless specifically listed
-
Visa fees, insurance, personal expenses, tips
-
Extra guiding time or services not written in the program
You will always see inclusions and exclusions in the detailed description of each Program.
